Thoughts on Obama Scandals & Election Day

I got an e-mail from a good online friend with whom I've been privately sharing political commentary and discussion for the better part of a decade.  I guess he just got word of the newest "Obama scandal" that's been making some circles about the whole gay bath house thing.  If you don't know about the allegations of the Wookie being a "beard", you can check it out here.

I had read a few things about the Chicago "tea room" network and Jeremiah Wright.  The only one of these dudes who isn't dead failed a lie detector test (although that doesn't mean much one way or another) and the reporting of the story is pretty limited.  It kind of reminds me a lot of all the Clinton Mena airport/drug running stuff back during the 90s.  I can't say whether it is all true or not, but the bottom line is like the whole "he wasn't born here" scandal, nothing is going to come out of it.

So, here's my election prediction for tomorrow:  I'm calling either a squeaker either way or a Romney landslide.  I don't think President Obama will win in a landslide.  He'll either barely win, barely lose, or get absolutely spanked.  We live in a Romney vacuum (Texas), so it is hard to predict.  I know Mr. Romney and Mr. Obama have been neck & neck in polling, but Dems are extremely oversampled in most polls (anywhere from 7-13% oversampled) and independents are breaking for Romney in double digit percentages.  I just don't know how hard Dems are going to cheat.   Hard I'm sure, but will it be enough?

Full disclosure:  both of the contributors to this blog voted during early voting last week for Gary Johnson.  T did so, enthusiastically, and I did with my nose firmly clamped.  Cthulhu wasn't on the ballot, so instead of voting for the ultimate evil, I decided to not skip the race, and settled for what I considered to be the least evil.  Regardless, we both know that the gentleman for whom we cast our ballot will not be the President of the United States. As far as I'm concerned, given the choices this election, no matter who wins, America loses.  But, we do indeed have the government that most Americans deserve.

That aside, I must stress that I have never in my lifetime seen the greatness of the American Presidency make a man so small as it has Barack Obama.  I didn't know there was a depth lower than the sinking of the USS Bill Clinton, but over the past 4 years, I have been unpleasantly surprised.  So at this point, I just want to see the petty little man be returned to Chicago in January to continue his prior career of harassing and agitating local black people.  There have been a lot of stories about this virtually unknown dude over the past 4 years...and to that I say "meh".  The fact that the dude is a fairly open and honest Marxist is enough for me.

Do I believe he was born here?  No.  Do I think this gay thing could be true?  Possibly.  Do I think the dude is a serious drug user?  Absolutely.  But at this point, his dog washers have managed to get him promoted to the ultimate office and our best weapon against him is to vote him out of it.  I just don't know how big a con job the American Pravda has managed this time.  That's the real question for me.  Do enough people still believe what the news media says to vote this guy back in office?  And that's the real question we'll have answered in the next few days.
